Dr. Christensen Home First Visit Services Mission Statement News Directions Feedback Forms	Personal I am a native of Idaho, having been born and raised in Idaho Falls. I graduated from Ricks College (now BYU Idaho) in Rexburg and then attended Weber State University in Ogden, UT and Idaho State University in Pocatello before attending dental school in Portland, OR. I graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1998 with a DMD degree. I then attended a one-year postgraduate training program called Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) with the U.S. Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. I spent an additional three years as a dentist in the U.S. Army in Germany. I am aware of the constant needs of families. I moved to Nampa in 2002 with my wife and two children. Philosophy I believe that with proper care and motivation, people can have healthy smiles with teeth that will function for a lifetime. I feel that children need to have a good dental experience during their first visits. I show empathy to patients that feel anxiety when coming to the dentist by listening, explaining procedures, and providing methods of relaxation. I offer oral sedation and nitrous oxide to anxious or fearful patients. I also have hospital privileges at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa. Some patients requested that their dental treatment be performed in the hospital operating room under general anesthesia by a board certified anesthesiologist. I recognize the necessity of staying current with technology. I have attended over 500 hours of continuing education since graduation from dental school. It is exciting to see how new technologies have provided a higher level of care and comfort for patients. My expertise includes a full scope of dentistry ranging from cosmetic procedures to simple tooth removal, wisdom tooth removal, root canals, and placement of dentures and partial dentures. I can also diagnose and treat minor facial injures and TMJ (jaw-joint) disorders.

	Employment 10/1998-10/1999 AEGD resident, U.S. Army DENTAC. Fort Campbell, KY Attended a one-year postgraduate training program that included instruction in all specialties of dentistry. Of most worth was the training in endodontics, emergency care, surgery, prosthetics, and intraoral photography. 10/1999-09/2002 General Dental Officer, 523rd Medical Company (Dental Services). Giebelstadt Army Airfield, Germany. Served the U.S. Army for an additional three years in a dental field unit in Germany. Responsible for operation and maintenance of $60,000 worth of portable dental equipment. Deployed with said equipment to a training exercise in Poland, and later used the equipment during a humanitarian mission to Uganda, Africa. Served as a CPR instructor and continuing education coordinator for 10 other dentists. Provided dental care for military members and their families at the U.S. Army Dental Clinic located on Giebelstadt Army Airfield. 09/2002-11/2003 General Dentist, Brookside Dental.
